Basil Besler Hand Colored Engraving C. 1613 Description: Basilius Besler Hand-colored Botanical Engraving published in Eichstadt (nr. Nuremberg), Germany in 1613. The engraving on laid paper with chain-linked watermarking depicts: the white, pink, crimson, maroon-double flowered and crimson double-flowered hollyhocks. This folio print comes from the work Hortus Eystettensis published in 1613; plate number 223. Condition: There is some slight unobtrusive creasing horizontally through the middle of the page which is typical of almost all Besler s.
